Fun Times: Myseum St. Louis

This weekend Amber had the chance to visit another children's museum with her younger cousins. My mom had the 8 and 4 year olds for the whole weekend and decided to treat them to a fun afternoon at Myseum. Amber is older than the recommended age range by over a year, but she still was able to enjoy the afternoon and even use the majority of the features.

Fun house mirror and magnetic bridge. The kids said it reminded them of Big Hero 6.
Amber was nearly too tall to climb and wiggle her way up to the top of the slide, and needed to forego it if multiple little kids were trying to climb too since she needed most of each level to maneuver.

Amber is the blur on the slide.
The kids weren't terribly excited with the dark alien ship inflatable. We didn't know to take a flashlight and I was unwilling to hand over my iPhone with crazy children running wild in the dark. Amber did say it resembled a mothership from Stargate SG-1.

It always amazes us how all three kids play so well together given their huge age differences. At 13 1/2, 8, and 4 years old they do have very different interests. Amber is great with her cousins and honestly enjoys spending time with them, but does get frustrated occasionally with their little child idiosyncrasies.

We are so thankful and thrilled to see Amber participate in activities like this with her cousins again. She did need to skip the bouncy inflatable ball area, although she desperately wanted to join the boys. I just couldn't see how it was safe for a child with EDS.

However Amber's medication configuration is proving to be quite effective while the beta blocker is active. She becomes tired still, and her heart rate is much higher than it should be. Yet, she is functional now and recovers quicker. We do still need to restrict the number of activities in which Amber participates, but it's a step in the right direction.
