A Miniature Break

The time change did a number on our family this year; added to that was the dusting of snow we received on Saturday and today along with dismal overcast skies. Amber and I decided we needed to have a relaxing lunch away from home today to combat the loss of early Spring.

We braved the melting snow and drizzle, and I even parallel parked in front of the restaurant door in my sleepy / exhausted state. But we savored our pub burgers and fries while having fun identifying each new song played in the restaurant. They were stuck on mid-1990s and early 2000s pop music, which meant I had a chance of recognizing the songs. Oddly enough Amber knew as many as me. Of course, my Shazam app knew them all.

We came home to a mail delivery of long awaited Legos, a new PS4 game, and a St. Patrick's day card all for Amber. She hit the jackpot in today's mail.

Although it could have been a supremely productive school day, it was an even more needed respite from normal life.

  1. I'm reading so much about snow falling in America! I can't believe it!! I'm not sure whether to be jealous or relieved that we are now definitely into spring :)
